Estonian Air carried altogether 66 833 passengers in April 2008, out of which 62 542 on regular flights. The total number of passengers increased 20.3% y-o-y, while Tallinn Airport passenger number increased by 16.6%. The number of passengers on regular flights increased 18.7% and on charter services 48.8%.

The overall number of passengers in the first four months of 2008 was 228 105, which is 17.2% higher y-o-y. The market share of Estonian Air in regular flights segment at Tallinn Airport was in April 47%, which is an increase of 2.4 percentage points than from March. The overall market share (regular and charter flights) of Estonian Air was 43.1% which is 1.5 percentage points higher than in March.
“We are pleased to experience another month of strong traffic growth for Estonian Air. The opening of two new destinations, Rome and Munich, contributed to this positive development,” comments Peter Arvidsson, Vice President Commercial of Estonian Air.
In April Estonian Air operated 1130 flights. The regularity of Estonian Air was 97.3 % and the 15-minute punctuality was 87.4%.
The best-growing destinations in April were Moscow, with a 21% growth y-o-y, followed by Brussels and Oslo where the number of passengers grew by 16% y-o-y.
Earlier this week Estonian Air introduced E-ticket and launched a new web page (www.estonian-air.ee). The new web page has new features such as the Estonian Air blog and a new booking engine allowing customers to book flights combining Estonian Air and its partner airlines such as SAS, Wideroe, Blue 1 and Spanair –altogether offering up to 70 destinations throughout Europe. In May more airlines and destinations will be added.
