Global Traveler - Readers Award Korean Air

Korean Air has been awarded Best Business Class Seat Design and Best Airport Staff/Gate agent by Global Traveler magazine in its 6th annual GT Tested Awards survey.

The results of the Awards were published in the magazine's 2009 December issue and the airline received its award at Global Traveler's awards dinner in New York on January 21, 2010.

Korean Air's new Prestige Class seat, named Prestige Sleeper, features 180 degree full-flat recline and 188cm (74 inch) pitch, offering customers the level of comfort normally reserved for First Class on other carriers. The AVOD monitors are an industry-leading 15,4 inches to take advantage of the 50 movies, 60 short features, 1000 songs, 40 games and other entertainment options available. The new seats are part of the airline's second phase cabin refurbishment plan for aircarft such as B777-300ERs, A380s and 787s.

In addition to the comfort and service onboard, Korean Air's seamless service is also available on the ground. Korean Air operates a Quality Assurance (QA) program for all ground service staff to ensure an industry-leading quality of service.

Korean Air's service has been recognized repeatadly worldwide. In 2009, it was ranked among the top five carriers by National Geographic Traveler China and as Best North Asian Airline by TTG Asia. The carrier was recently named 2009's winner of the Global Travel Catering Distinction Award by Pax International, the Canadian-based group that conducts the "Oscars for the travel catering industry"
