Once again Aircontact arranged an Antonov 12 flight with some 180 live pigs from Norway to Iceland.
A lot of planning is required when live animal transport is to be arranged on time and meeting all special requirements for these type of special transport.
Right aircraft with penning system etc must be sourced in the market and this time it became a challenge with the EU ban of Bulgarian AN12 introduced, after we had confirmation from client. However everything was arranged and flight took place as planned weeks earlier. Export of live pigs for “breading” is not unusual from Norway and Aircontact has over the years arranged many flights with pigs for the same forwarder, including a Boeing 747-200F to USA.
