In February 2007, Aircontact chartered for the first time the new generation IL-76TD90VD. The aircraft entered Norwegian airpace with its new Aviadvigatel PS90A-76 engines and visited Oslo Airport Gardermoen. The newly build aircraft represents the future in cargo aviation, with noise chapter 4, improved payload and longer range. The IL-76TD90VD lifted 21 tonnes cargo for our client out of Oslo, Gardermoen bound for Asia.
The old and noisy chapter 2 IL-76TDs have only been able to operate in EU for humanitarian and military flights with special exemptions from Civil Aviation Authorities. With the new IL-76TD90VD, which no restrictions apply, Aircontact hope the marked will notice and see that there are solutions to be found, not needing special permissions for each flight.
